On Sunday, March 9, the Collective Transportation System (STC) Metro of Mexico City informed through its social media about the closure of several stations on Line 2 due to a scheduled event at the Zócalo at 12:00 PM. The stations affected by this closure will be Allende, Zócalo/Tenochtitlan, and Pino Suárez.
As an alternative to access the city center, users are recommended to use the San Juan de Letrán station on Line 8 and Bellas Artes stations on Lines 2 and 8. The Metro emphasized the importance of taking precautions due to these temporary closures and planning their routes in advance.
The event that motivated the closure of Line 2 stations is an informational assembly that will be held by the Mayor of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, at the Zócalo. During this meeting, Sheinbaum will announce the results of negotiations on tariffs with the Government of the United States, as well as the progress in the implementation of judicial reforms.
Given the significance of this event, the STC Metro recommended that users consider the transportation alternatives provided to reach the city center and reminded them that the affected stations will remain closed until further notice.
